28 May A taste of Spain
The Malaga villas that have it all…and a little bit more besides!
We are huge fans of Malaga, after all, what’s not to love? Fantastic weather, a stunning coastline, food to die for, wine that tastes great, but doesn’t break the bank, lots to see and do for families and so much going on in the surrounding areas as well…plus it’s just a 2.5 hour flight from the UK.
When it comes to where to stay, Stay One Degree has you covered with these award-winning properties. Alan Hazel’s neighbouring Andalucian hideaways, sleeping 8 and 6 respectively (view homes), are located in between the pretty villages of Alcaucin and Canillas de Aceituno, where you’ll find small local supermarkets, bakeries, butchers plus a selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. The nearest beach can be found at Torre del Mar, which is 35 minute drive away.
While the villas have historically offered a number of luxurious extras – think private chefs, culinary outings, cultural tours, yoga and beauty treatments in situ – this year the owners are pushing the boat out even further with an unprecedented gastronomic experience that will blow your mind. The new Seven Chefs initiative will be on offer this summer and is guaranteed to make your holiday beyond special. The owners have hand-picked a talented troupe of the region’s finest chefs, each of whom will deliver guests a different meal every night of the week. Each chef (some of whom have been awarded Michelin stars) flaunts a unique style, character and personality, delivering a delicious diversity of cuisines of the very highest quality.
And whilst each of the chefs brings a taste of Spain to the table, the cuisine actually ranges from Japanese and Asian fusion, to the freshest of local Mediterranean seafood and traditional Spanish fare. Be assured that vegetarians and vegans aren’t overlooked either with a number of suitable dishes on offer to suit various requirements. Prepare to be mesmerised by the impressive skills as each chef wows with cooking demonstrations – or those adventurous guests can request a more in-depth cookery course. In addition, you will get the opportunity to sample some of the local wines hand-picked by the on-hand sommelier as you embark on an cultural Andalusian adventure through your stomachs!Owner Alan Hazel tells us: “There’s truly something for everyone: the experiential cultural and culinary devotee, the busy parents preferring to eat-in without sacrificing quality, the curious luxury traveller who loves to be doted upon…we hope they will be as utterly thrilled as we know their taste buds will be!”
